Organised by Social Impact Catalyst, 21–22 September 2024. Campus Edition — ideation-only competition addressing UN Sustainable Development Goals. No code built. Listed honestly as non-coding.
SDG Open Hack! Singapore was a two-day ideathon structured around three SDG tracks: Good Health and Well-Being (SDG 3), Affordable and Clean Energy (SDG 7), and Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure (SDG 9).
Teams identified a real-world problem within their chosen track, proposed a solution, and presented to judges. Submissions were shared on the Sparkboard platform for community feedback.

This was my first competition — September 2024, no code, pure ideation. Looking back, it's the starting point of a clear arc: ideathon (2024) to case study competitions (2025) to coding hackathons (2025-2026).
The fact that the first entry was a 1st place didn't mean much technically. But it built the habit of entering, shipping something under time pressure, and presenting in front of strangers. Those habits compound.
The coding wins came later. This is where it started.
