Led the Chinese Language Debate Club through a full competition season at Chung Ling High School.
Weekly practices — structuring arguments, drilling rebuttals, building team rhythm. Debate is one of the few disciplines where you have to think clearly under direct opposition pressure. Teaching that to a team is different from doing it yourself.
We competed at district and state level. Best results: District 2nd Place, State 3rd Place.
The competitive results were good. But the more lasting skill was learning how to take a position, defend it rigorously, and change your mind when the evidence demands it. That habit has followed me into everything since.
